Welcome
This is the Bonus Tools blog — the place where we publish release announcements, dig into individual tools, and share practical advice for getting more out of Revit.
If you've ever wondered what half the tools in the ribbon actually do, or whether there's a faster way to handle a specific Revit task, this is where we answer that.
What to expect here
Release notes — every update to Bonus Tools gets documented here. What changed, why it changed, and what it means for your workflow.
Tool spotlights — over the coming weeks we're publishing a series walking through each tool in the suite. The problem it was built to solve, how to use it step by step, and a real estimate of the time it saves per project. Most users know maybe 20% of what's available — the spotlights are here to fix that.
Workflow tips — occasionally a post that isn't about a specific tool, but about a Revit problem that comes up on nearly every project and how to deal with it efficiently.
A bit of background
Bonus Tools started as a collection of scripts I built to survive my own Revit projects. Repetitive tasks that Revit doesn't automate, things that took ten minutes that should take ten seconds. Over time the list grew, other firms started using it, and it became what it is today — 158 tools covering sheets, views, families, parameters, Excel integration, worksets, model health, and more.
The suite is used by architects, BIM managers, and Revit users across the world on Revit 2019 through 2027. One license, every version, every tool.
If you're new here — start with the Tutorials section. If you're already a user and want to go deeper, keep an eye on the tool spotlight series.
